Who is Jeremy Markiz?

After being ordained in 2016 from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, I moved to a new city and started my rabbinic career with no job and no idea what I was going to do.

Over the course of my first year, I worked on a ton of projects with JCCs to Day Schools and ultimately was brought on full-time with a local congregation. There, I developed a user-driven adult education and programming model running 700+ programs in four years.

I became fascinated by new media, including podcasts and social networks, realizing how incredible these tools could be.

Over those years, I launched this site, a podcast, another podcast, and The Rabbi’s Manual blog. Starting in 2018, I began live-streaming my Talmud class, first from a coffee shop, then from the synagogue, and then from my home office during the pandemic.

In 2018, I was honored to be a Rabbis Without Borders fellow.
In 2019, I presented at the Rabbinical Assembly Convention in Montreal about Social Media Strategy for Rabbis and Congregations and at the USCJ/RA 2020 Judaism Conference about Adult Programming models for recruitment and retention.
In 2020, I was a fellow in Clal’s Glean START program with the Columbia Business School, with a certification in Spiritual Entrepreneurship.

And in 2021, I launched Next Level Rabbinics to help rabbis, synagogues, and Jewish organizations find solutions to their social media and communication troubles, work with them to develop effective strategies and models to become more productive, and advise them on creating amazing adult education programming.

And in 2022, I expanded Next Level Rabbinics to include communication strategy, productivity and project management coaching, and adult-education programming consulting.
